FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Which types of clients benefit most from your services and approach?

A: We work best with clients who value a collaborative, transparent relationship built on trust. Most of our clients are business owners, corporate executives, retirees, physicians, and those contemplating retirement seeking to coordinate all areas of their financial life, including investments, taxes, retirement planning, and estate planning. As a fee-only fiduciary firm in New Hope, Pennsylvania, we serve a select group of clients by design to help ensure personalized attention and long-term success.

What services do you offer as a financial advisor?

A: We provide comprehensive financial planning and investment management for individuals, families, and institutions. Our services include retirement and estate planning, tax strategy, investment management, risk management, charitable planning, and business transition planning—all coordinated under one roof. Your plan is customized to help align your wealth with your long-term goals and values.

Do you offer financial planning, investment management, or both?

A: Both. We integrate financial planning and investment management into a coordinated process. This means your portfolio and plan are designed to work together so that your investments align with your goals, and your goals are supported by disciplined, evidence-based investing.

What is a fiduciary, and are you one?

A: Yes, Rockwood is a fiduciary financial advisor. That means we are legally and ethically obligated to act in your best interest at all times. We do not earn commissions or accept referral fees; our compensation comes solely from our clients. This fee-only structure helps to ensure that your plan and investments are guided by objective, transparent advice you can trust.

How are you compensated for your services?

A: We are a fee-only firm, meaning we’re paid directly by our clients, not by product providers or commissions. Our compensation for ongoing wealth management is based on a percentage of assets under management. This transparent structure helps ensure our advice is objective, aligned with your best interests, and free from conflicts of interest.

What is your investment philosophy or approach?

A: We follow an evidence-based, institutional-quality approach to investing, emphasizing broad diversification, low costs, and long-term discipline over speculation or market timing. Each portfolio is engineered to reflect clients’ goals and risk profile, providing a structured path toward long-term results regardless of short-term noise.

What minimum asset level, if any, is required to become a client?

A: We don’t require a minimum asset level to work together, though we’re generally a best fit for clients with more than $1,000,000 to invest. We maintain a minimum annual fee for comprehensive wealth management services. This allows us to provide the depth of planning and personal attention each client deserves. See our Form CRS for details about our current fee structure.

How do you work with clients—in person, remotely, or both?

A: Both. We meet with clients in person at our office in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and virtually with clients throughout the world. Our technology and communication tools make it easy to stay connected and provide a high-touch, boutique experience so that you’ll receive the same thoughtful, personalized service whether you’re local to Bucks County or on the other side of the country.

Do you offer an initial consultation to determine whether we’re a good fit?

A: Yes. We start with a complimentary introductory conversation to learn more about your goals and explain how we work. This no-obligation meeting helps both of us determine whether Rockwood’s approach and services are the right fit for your needs. Schedule your discovery call here.
